Yalbury Cottage is situated in Lower Bockhampton, a peaceful hamlet in the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside and 200 yards from the River Frome. Lower Bockhampton is just two miles from the Roman town of Dorchester and about eight miles from the coast. It is an ideal base from which to explore, on foot or by car, this unspoilt part of England. We are at the heart of 'Hardy Country' in the literary village of Mellstock. The novelist's birthplace is just a mile away, the school he attended is opposite and Stinsford Church, where his heart is buried, is only a short walk away.

Our lounge and restaurant are in the 300 year old part of the building, which gives them a very cosy and comfortable atmosphere. All our eight rooms are en-suite.
